Jessica & Ron

Jessica & Ron enjoyed an incredibly fun and brew inspired day for their spring wedding at the Ryland Inn in New Jersey. True to spring weather, it rained the entire day, but Jessica & Ron didn’t let that stop them from having a magical day and tying the knot. The day was filled with many custom details, including a home-brewed beer with custom labels that included their dog, signature cocktails, and a blue and gray color story throughout all the decor. The amazing Brian Kirk and the Jirks kept the dance floor full the entire evening with their unique solos and performances. Since Jessica & Ron’s family have grown up together, their wedding day was an incredible celebration combining longtime friends as officially family. Congratulations!
Jess and I have known each other – basically our whole lives – but we really reconnected when I moved back home, and ultimately NYC. I ran into her parents at a family party, found out she was living in Brooklyn and reached out for recommendations on where to live. We started chatting a bit via text – picked a day to meet up – ended up at a brewery, and the rest is history.
Our proposal was adorable. I could tell something was up since I’m too curious for my own good, but it was an amazing day. We had taken a Friday off of work and headed up to Beacon for a long weekend. Ron had picked out the perfect spot but the entrance was closed! So we figured out another way to get there. He picked out a spot on this beautiful trail, right on the Hudson River, directly across one of my favorite breweries (Newburgh brewing). He pulled out a bottle of beer that we were saving for when he proposed and I immediately said we couldn’t drink that. He asked why and I said because we weren’t engaged. And then he pulled out the ring! And he was going so slow, so I told him to get on one knee, which he was trying to do but there was a log and some branches so it was hard to find the right angle, and he asked me to marry him! I totally blacked out and went silent. I just stared at the ring and then him and then at the ring again and then I started kissing him. Apparently I never actually said yes so I eventually did and I put the ring on. It was a very surreal experience and it took a long time to process it. But we popped open the bottle of beer, hung out at the spot by the water and just kinda goofed around for a bit. It was such a beautiful setting and it was just us. We took some selfies and silly photos. It was amazing!
